Contract soldier from Krasnodar Territory sentenced for leaving his military unit
In Sochi, the Garrison Military Court has sentenced contract soldier Alexander Kondratiev to 5.5 years of imprisonment for his six months’ absence from the military unit, recognizing the performance of “special tasks” as the mitigating circumstance.
According to the verdict, Alexander Kondratiev signed a contract for three years, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports. Participating “in the performance of special tasks” on July 25, 2022, the man “arbitrarily left the place of the military service” and went to his relatives in a village in the Krasnodar Territory. Alexander Kondratiev did not return even after the announcement of the partial mobilization and did not arrive at the location of his military unit until December 30.
As the mitigating circumstances, the Garrison Military Court of Sochi took into account that Alexander Kondratiev was brought to criminal responsibility for the first time, was brought up without a father, “directly participated in the performance of special tasks,” and also voluntarily reimbursed the money allowance paid to him during his absence from the military service.
