Makhachkala: townspeople's interest in pickets in Gadjiev's support inspires his colleagues

During another series of solo pickets regularly held by Abdulmumin Gadjiev's colleagues, residents of Makhachkala were very actively interested in the journalist's case, Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik" outlet, has informed. Gadjiev's friends are convinced that the prosecution has no real proofs of his guilt.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gadjiev's colleagues treat the criminal case against him as political persecution and regularly hold solo pickets in Makhachkala in his support.

On March 27, 2023, such pickets were held by the above Magomed Magomedov and Idris Yusupov, a journalist of the "Novoye Delo" outlet. Magomedov's solo picket attracted attention of passers-by and drivers, who reacted with horns and gestures.

By the end of Yusupov's action, a policeman approached him and demanded explanations.

According to Magomedov, the increase in the interest of passers-by in the pickets is due, in particular, to the fact that the number of pedestrians has increased due to good weather.

In particular, one of the passers-by talked with Magomedov for 10 minutes about his own experience of interacting with the judicial and law enforcement systems of the republic.

Friends and acquaintances of Gadjiev have stated that they are still convinced of his innocence.

According to Murad, one of Gadjiev's friends, the prosecution understood that they had provided insufficient evidence of Gadjiev's guilt; and this is partly why an additional examination was ordered. Also, the results of the previous examination, which found nothing illegal in Gadjiev's articles, were not in favour of the prosecution.

Let us remind you that Abdulmumin Gadjiev, one of the editors of the "Chernovik", Abubakar Rizvanov, the head of the "Ansar" Charity Fund, and Kemal Tambiev, an activist, have been in custody since June 2019 on charges of financing terrorism.
