Solo picket in support of journalist Abdulmumin Gadjiev held in Makhachkala

At a solo picket in Makhachkala, Magomed Magomedov, the deputy editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper “Chernovik” (Rough Draft), demanded to release his colleague Abdulmumin Gadjiev.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that colleagues of Abdulmumin Gadjiev regularly hold pickets in support of him. During their protest actions, they also demand to stop the persecution of journalists and release political prisoners. On July 25, solo pickets were held by Magomed Magomedov, the deputy editor-in-chief of the “Chernovik”, and Magdy Kamalov, a founder of the “Chernovik”. Passers-by and car drivers expressed their support for the picketers, and the police did not interfere, the picketers said.

“We demand freedom for journalist Abdulmumin Gadjiev and demand the termination of his absurd criminal case,” the “Chernovik” Telegram channel says.

According to the investigators’ version, the journalist together with several other defendants collected 68 million roubles and 200, 000 US dollars for terrorists under the pretext of building mosques and helping poor Muslims.
