It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from official sources that the Elborus District Court of Kabardino-Balkaria passed a verdict of guilty to three employees of the Elborus District Interior Department (ROVD) for abuse of their official powers.

Bashir Baichekuev and Zhambulat Zhanikaev, operative officers of the Criminal Investigatory Department (CID) of the Elborus ROVD were sentenced to two years in a general custody colony, and district militiaman Buzdzhigit Batyrbiev - to two years of conditional punishment. After serving their terms, the militiamen will be prohibited to take positions in law enforcement bodies for a certain period of time.

On May 4, 2005, the convicts, the then employees of district militia, detained two young men in the city of Tyrnyauz and brought them to the ROVD.

One of the detainees was asked about the owner of the motorcycle. The guy was afraid that his motorcycle would be confiscated and refused to answer militiamen's questions. Then three militiamen started beating him, in particular, with a rubber truncheon.

We remind you that now the Elborus District Court is considering another criminal case in relation to Mashezov and Baichekuev, district militiamen, who beat and tortured two teenagers, residents of Neitrino village.
