Rostov human rights defender fined for his post in social media

A court in Rostov-on-Don has fined Rostislav Pavlischev by 10,000 roubles, after treating his post placed in a social network as participation in the activities of an undesirable organization. This was reported by the human rights project "OVD-Info"*.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 24, 2021, a court arrested Pavlischev for 10 days, finding him guilty of publicly displaying the symbols of an extremist organization.

The ruling of the Kirovsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don states that Pavlischev has posted "graphic materials" on the Instagram**, including those containing the emblem of an undesirable organization.

**On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
