Acting in pacifist video clip resulted in administrative protocol against Benyash

Policemen have drawn up a protocol against the Krasnodar lawyer, Mikhail Benyash, who took part in an anti-war video clip, under the article about discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The video with an anti-war appeal by Mr Benyash and three other persons was posted on February 28 on the YouTube channel of the "Protocol" group of journalists, lawyers and civil activists, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* reported on its Telegram channel on April 14.

In the video clip, they expressed their opinion on the situation in Ukraine and commented on Russia's actions.

"For this video clip of the 'Protocol', I was awarded with another protocol – under Article 20.3.3 on discrediting," Mikhail Benyash said, adding that he treats the charges against him as "delusion."

Let us remind you that the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 12 "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) fighters had challenged, at the Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar, the decision of the territorial "Rosgvardiya" branch to fire them after their refusal to take part in the special operation in Ukraine. Lawyers have treated their refusal to take part in hostilities outside Russia as justified. Mikhail Benyash, a Krasnodar lawyer, represented the interests of the fired "Rosgvardiya" fighters in court.

*The project has been put by the Russian Ministry of Justice on the roster of unregistered public associations performing the functions of a foreign agent.
