Six residents of Dagestan convicted in case on terrorism

Today, in Rostov-on-Don, the Southern District Military Court has found six residents of Dagestan guilty of organizing a terrorist community and plotting attempts on law enforcers and sentenced them to 6.5-8 years of imprisonment.

“According to the investigators’ version, in January 2019, the defendants created a terrorist community and involved other persons in it,” announced a press officer of the Investigating Department. The defendants created an illegal armed formation (IAF) to prepare attacks on law enforcers, were trained in the manufacture of explosive devices and the rules for handling explosive devices, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was explained at the Investigating Department.

“In March 2019, the defendants set on fire the cars of a policeman and of a local resident after dousing the cars with gasoline. Besides, they also planned to commit the murder of a local woman,” the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported earlier.

Today, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has found all the defendants guilty. Turen Magomedrzaev was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment, Davud Israfilov and Ramazan Abdurakhmanov – to 8 years of imprisonment, and each of them was also fined 30,000 roubles. Arsen Djalalov was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months of imprisonment with a fine of 20,000 roubles. Each of two minor defendants was sentenced to 7 years and 8 months of imprisonment with a fine of 20,000 roubles.
