Two inmates of Novocherkassk colony set fire to their clothes

In the city of Novocherkassk, Rostov Region, two inmates of a maximum security colony have climbed onto the roof of a building and set fire to their clothes in protest against removal to another detachment.

Not wanting to move to another detachment, the inmates set fire to their trousers, the press service of the Chief Department for the Rostov Region of the Russian Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) has informed.

The inmates explained their act by their unwillingness to fulfil the legal demands of the colony administration and move to another detachment, the "Interfax" reports.

Both inmates received minor burns. They are on the prophylactic registry as persons prone to self-harm, the "Lenta.ru" has added.
