Law enforcers find hideout with ammunition in outskirt of Grozny

A hideout with artillery shells, mines and a grenade launcher has been liquidated in the vicinity of Grozny region.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Chechnya, law enforcers are regularly finding hideouts with weapons and ammunition. In October 2020, a hideout with a shell, a mine, grenades and cartridges was liquidated in the Leninsky District of Grozny.

This time, in a forest in an outskirt of the Baisangur District of Grozny, law enforcers have found a hideout with 67 artillery shells, four mines and a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher. According to experts, the hideout was several years old, the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard) has reported.

In January 2021, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the liquidation of the last grouping of militants in Chechnya; the grouping was under command of Aslan Byutukaev. Chechen law enforcers found Byutukaev's secret hiding place, while watching his ancestral village of Katar-Yurt. However, experts on Northern Caucasus believe that the conditions for appearance of new militants from among those dissatisfied with the state of affairs in Chechnya are still there.
