Journalists report secret Moscow real estate of Kadyrov's relatives
Chechen officials from among Ramzan Kadyrov's relatives own apartments in an elite Moscow residential complex, but fail to mention them in their declarations, as follows from the investigation of the "Important Stories" media project. By non-disclosing the data about the real estate, these officials risk being fired for a loss of trust, the anti-corruption centre Transparency International has explained.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov's income in 2019, according to the declaration he had filed, amounted to 147.9 million roubles, almost 20 times higher than the 2018 figure. Kadyrov's wife, according to her declaration, increased her income by 40 times over the year. However, the official income of the heads of other Russian regions usually does not exceed several million roubles.
Several of Kadyrov's relatives own apartments not mentioned in their declarations in the premium-class "Sokolinoye Gnezdo" (Hawk's Nest) residential complex in Moscow, the above media project reports. In particular, Zargan Kadyrova, Ramzan's sister, owns an apartment of total area of 131.7 square meters since 2004.
In 2005, Zulai Kadyrova, another Ramzan's sister, bought a 167.7 square meter penthouse in the "Sokolinoye Gnezdo", the authors of the investigation assert.
In the same residential complex, Yakub (Ibragim) Zakriev, a son of Zulai Kadyrova and Salman Zakriev, that is, Ramzan Kadyrov's nephew, has also bought some real estate, the authors report.
According to their story, since 2005, Ramzan Kadyrov's cousin, Turpal-Ali Ibragimov, who heads the administration of the Shali District of Chechnya, also owns an apartment in the "Sokolinoye Gnezdo".
