Promotion of Kadyrov family's Instagram accounts is part of his political strategy
The promotion of the accounts of Kadyrov and his family members on the Instagram has to do with his political ambitions and the desire to increase his popularity, the experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October, the rapper Morgenstern told how he received 400,000 roubles for promoting each of the accounts of Ramzan Kadyrov's family members and of his associates on the Instagram.
The usual practice of forcing budget-funded servants, like in the case of flash mobs, is not as efficient in the case of promoting Instagram accounts; therefore, Kadyrov and those in charge of his promotion attract paid specialists, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has noted.
In Tumso's opinion, the promotion of accounts in social networks is necessary for Kadyrov, as well as for all public figures, because social networks are gaining popularity, and the Internet in Russia, in comparison with the traditional television, enjoys more and more trust. "Social networks are an indispensable propaganda tool for Kadyrov; and he spares no money for this," said Abdurakhmanov.
Svetlana Gannushkina, a rights defender and the head of the "Civil Assistance" Committee, explains Kadyrov's use of social networks for his own promotion by his desire to increase his popularity. "He [...] wants to show how exceptional he is in every way. And social networks are a good way to do this. The promotion of relatives' accounts is also quite understandable. This is an element of culture – not he alone, but all his clan," she said.
