Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Minister replaced: Arutyunyan killed, Azerbaijan says

The Azerbaijani troops destroyed a car in which Djalal Arutyunyan, Defence Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, was travelling, sources reported. The president of the unrecognized republic announced that Djalal Arutyunyan had been injured. The Defence Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh is replaced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that full-scale hostilities began in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27. On October 26, a new agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but already in the first hours after it, the parties exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

Major General Mikael Arzumanyan has been appointed the new commander of the Nagorno-Karabakh army, announces Nagorno-Karabakh President Araik Arutyunyan. "The decision to dismiss Djalal Arutyunyan (from office) was motivated by an injury he had got the day before, and this fact should not become a reason for discussion," Araik Arutyunyan has written on his Facebook page today.

According to Azerbaijani sources, the Defence Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh was killed in a shelling attack on his car. In particular, today, the "Trend.az" has posted a video which allegedly captures the moment of an attack on a SUV in which Djalal Arutyunyan was travelling. The footage of the video demonstrates the moment of targeting the SUV moving along the road at high speed and the moment with a shell hitting it.
