Kadyrov sends his advocate to defend Ramil Shamsutdinov

Said-Magomed Chapanov, an advocate of the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, and his colleague, Ravil Tugushev, have flown to the city of Chita to defend the interests of the Tyumen conscript, Ramil Shamsutdinov, who is accused of killing his eight comrades-in-arms.

The shooting in the military unit located in the village of Gorny of the Chita District broke out on October 25. According to investigators, during the incident, Private Ramil Shamsutdinov shot eight servicemen dead and wounded two others. The case is investigated under Part 2, of Article 105, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (a murder of two or more persons). Shamsutdinov was arrested for two months. His father, Salim Shamsutdinov, has accused investigators of intention to hide facts of hazing in the military unit, the RBC has reported today.

The fact that the above advocates had flown to Chita to defend Ramil Shamsutdinov's interests, was reported by their colleague, Ruslan Nagiev.

Said-Magomed Chapanov has confirmed that he represents Shamsutdinov's interests, adding that the defence will seek re-qualification of the case into the article on the murder of two or more persons committed in the heat of passion.
