Chechen woman detained for witchcraft

The Chechen police have detained Sekinat Ibragimova, a local resident, accusing her of rendering magical services.

Law enforcers and clergymen detained her at the entrance to the Nadterechny District from Mozdok.

According to the police, she has been rendering magic services since 2013. This time, together with her client, she returned from a resident of Mozdok, to whom she turned for help in the provision of occult services, the police reported. The typical set used by most magicians was seized from Ibragimova – locks, keys, soil from cemeteries, papers with obscure inscriptions, and photographs of people with names and requests, says the story shown on September 11 by the "Grozny" TV Channel.

The authors of the story have emphasized the role of the head of Chechnya in the fight against sorcerers. "At the initiative of Ramzan Kadyrov, raids on magicians have been held for several years," said the TV programme presenter.

Ibragimova has repented to the camera and asked for forgiveness.
