Activists suggest extending Magas action

The participants of the rally held in Magas have supported the activists' proposal to submit a notification to the authorities about the continuation of the action. Moscow should pay attention to the protest of residents of Ingushetia, the human rights activist Magomed Mutsolgov, believes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, in Magas, participants in the rally against the law on referendum expressed their distrust to the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, and demanded his resignation.

Akhmed Barakhoev, a co-chair of the Council of Teips, has suggested that the rally participants submit a notification about the extension of the action. "Will you go home or not?" he turned to the crowd. "No!" the protesters answered. "Until Evkurov resigns, we'll stay here!" the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent quotes the activists' words from the venue.

The decision to hold a rally was caused by the distrust in the head of the republic, Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the "Mashr" human rights organization, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Mr Mutsolgov expects that the federal centre will react to the protest and take action. "The federal centre should hear the Ingush people and their demands. They'll see the rally, the crowd of people; and we'll see changes," he has concluded.

Let us remind you that on October 4-17, 2018, in Magas, a round-the-clock protest against the change of the border with Chechnya was held. Starting from October 8, the action was sanctioned by the authorities.
