Today, two natives of the Volgograd Region have been killed by law enforcers in the Stavropol Territory. The National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports that the suspects were plotting a terror act. According to the NAC, no one else suffered.

At night on March 14, the law enforcement bodies got the information about armed people in a car near the farm yard of Balki in the Shpakovsky District, reported the NAC. According to it, when law enforcers attempted to stop the car, the suspected militants opened fire, threw a grenade, and tried to escape. As a result, they were killed.

"Weapons, ammunition, and a grenade were found at the place of the incident," reports today the NAC on its website.

The killed suspects have been identified, but the NAC has not disclosed their names. It is known that the suspects were natives of the Volgograd Region, joined the ranks of the IS*, and came to the Stavropol Territory to organize a terror act, reported the NAC.

No law enforcers were killed and no citizens were injured, the NAC reports.

* "Islamic State" (IS, earlier ISIL) is recognized as a terrorist organization and is banned in Russia by the court decision
