Blogger Alibek Mirzekhanov disappears in Moscow after law enforcers' visit

Alibek Mirzekhanov, a blogger, has disappeared after law enforcers visited his apartment in Moscow, where he lived with his family.

His friend told the "Caucasian Knot" that Alibek was taken away to some unknown place, adding that Mirzekhanov was not a supporter of radical Islam and urged the youth to eschew radical views.

"All his subscribers know that he has always urged people to focus more on their personal self-development," the friend has explained.

In February 2013, Mirzekhanov reported his kidnapping and torture by law enforcers. Rights defenders asked the then head of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, to pay attention to Mirzekhanov's kidnapping. The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" noted that for three weeks the investigating authorities had not responded to Mirzekhanov's application.
