Residents of Grozny complain about traffic jams caused by arrival Egyptian footballers

Policemen gave blocked streets at the "Akhmat Arena" Stadium and the Grozny Airport several hours before the arrival of the national football team of Egypt, thus created traffic jams, the townspeople have reported.

The national team of Egypt will get ready for the FIFA World Cup in Grozny. Right for the event, they have built a new hotel in Grozny – The Local. According to city residents, the Chechen capital is looking better with the arrival of the Egyptian team.

The FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia from June 14 to July 15. The tournament matches will be hosted by three cities in Southern of Russia – Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Volgograd.

"Near the airport, everything was blocked since morning; as usual, authorities created a great deal of excitement. One could think that the airport is under siege; militaries were everywhere," said Aslan, a resident of Grozny.

"As usual, policemen have overdone it. They began blocking everything several hours before the arrival of the team, causing traffic jams in the streets," another local named Idris has added.
