New police force sent to Dagestan

A joint unit of the Rostov regional traffic police departed for Dagestan to carry out preventive operations on 25 July. This is what Mikhail Korneyev, a deputy chief of the regional department of internal affairs, said at a meeting. This is already the fifth trip of police officers from Rostov to North Caucasus republics this year.

Krasnodar traffic police units had arrived in Dagestan for the same purpose on 21 July, Caucasian Knot's correspondent says. The arriving police officers will be involved in patrolling streets in the capital of Dagestan and entrances to the city, as well as other operations.
