Beslan mothers to go to Moscow on foot

Members of the Beslan Mothers committee have voiced their intention to go to Moscow on foot to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. The mothers, who lost their children in the Beslan school, demand that they meet with the president of the country.

"We addressed this question to Kozak [the President's envoy in the South Federal District] but have received no answer from him. And we are ready to take extreme measures," says the head of the committee, Susanna Dudiyeva.

Ms Dudiyeva, referring to Putin's statements about "the closeness between the authorities and people", stated that victims of the terror attack were ready to go from North Osetia to Moscow on foot. "We, as citizens of this country, elected him (Vladimir Putin — editor's note), and he must talk to his people. We have what to talk with him about."
