In Stavropol Territory, village council head accused of recruiting fighters for IS

A case against the head of the Kucherlinsky village council, accused of recruiting a resident of the Stavropol Territory to the ranks of Syrian militants, was brought to court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October 2016, the court sentenced Rakhman Bagbekov, a resident of the Stavropol Territory, to 15 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. According to the FSB, in the summer of 2015, he was trained in a training camp of the "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia) in Syria, and in March 2016, he returned to Russia and was detained.

According to investigators, Rakhman Bagbekov, a resident of the Sharakhalsun aul, was recruited by Mukharem Orozbaev, the head of the Kucherlinsky village council in the Turkmen District.

The case against Mukharem Orozbaev was opened in December 2016, the agency "Pobeda26" reports.
