New attacks on police officers, military men

Two terrorist acts against local police officers and Russian military men were committed in Chechnya in the past 24 hours, the republican Internal Affairs Ministry told Caucasian Knot. The incidents took place in the Shali district (in the southeast of the republic) and in Grozny.

"A UAZ vehicle was blown up near Mesker-Yurt, Shali district. Three officers of Chechnya's Internal Affairs Ministry sustained wounds and were contused," a source with republican law enforcement agencies said.

"Another act of terrorism occurred in Grozny's Leninskii district. In the first half of the day, a powerful radio-controlled homemade explosive device was triggered when a UAZ vehicle with officers of the Russian Internal Affairs Ministry's interior troops was going by. One of the servicemen was seriously wounded," the interlocutor said.
