Student abducted in Chechnya

Russian military men abducted 24-year-old Magomed Salsanov, a four-year student at a Chechen higher education institution, from the Okruzhnaia temporary accommodation point for forced migrants in the capital of Chechnya at about 2.00 am today. The event was reported by dwellers of the accommodation point. They said the military had come in several cars and fired randomly in the air.

"These were Russian military men, not local law enforcement agents," an accommodation point dweller says. "We had a clean-up yesterday morning which was conducted by local police officers and Russian military men. No claims were then made against anyone, basically. However, this night they came and took Magomed Salsanov. To the best of my knowledge, he is a four-year student at an institute or a university. No one knows where he is now or what he was taken for."

The abducted man's relatives are trying to find him currently, according to the source.
