In Volgograd and Dagestan, attacks on policemen followed similar scenario
A man suspected of attacking policemen in the Volgograd Region has been arrested. In the town of Kotelnikovo, policemen were attacked under a scenario similar to the attack on a policeman committed in Dagestan on the same day, reported political analyst Andrei Serenko.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 26, a 21-year-old resident of Kotelnikovo injured two policemen with a knife and got a gunshot wound while trying to escape.
On November 26, in Kizilyurt, a man injured a policeman with a knife, and after that he was wounded and detained.
"If both incidents have been provoked by the propaganda of the 'Islamic State' (IS, a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation), then we can speak about its effectiveness and the expansion of the number of Russia's regions where supporters of the caliphate among young people commit their attacks," believes Andrei Serenko, a coordinator for the Volgograd club of experts.
According to him, for several months, the IS propaganda services have been calling their supporters in Russia to commit such attacks. "It should be noted that on November 26, the attacks took place in small towns. It is clear that the law enforcement agencies should pay more attention to such towns rather than focusing their attention on large cities only," emphasized the expert.
