Ramzan Kadyrov announces victory over terrorism in Chechnya

On the third day after reports about an attack on a police checkpoint in Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov has announced that the republic's authorities are able to prevent terror acts while planned.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 19, a police checkpoint near the village of Roshni-Chu in Chechnya was attacked. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), one of the attackers threw a hand grenade to the policemen, while the second assailant opened fire from a pistol. Both attackers were killed and later identified as Akhmed Chakhkiev, a resident of Ingushetia, and Adam Tsutsaev, a resident of the Altai Territory.

Chechnya is "the only region in the world where terrorism has been completely defeated," announced the leader of the republic. "There is no terrorist underground in Chechnya! Meanwhile, there are still attempts to recruit young people," said Ramzan Kadyrov. He has also explained that there is no "social base" for terrorists in the republic.

"In the fight against terrorism, we have reached a level where we are able to frustrate any attempts when they are being plotted," emphasized the leader of Chechnya. He has explained that solo terrorists "can be detected in most cases," the "Interfax" reports.
