Incident in Roshni-Chu is second attack on Chechen law enforcers' posts in 2017
In 2017, the today's attack on policemen near the village of Roshni-Chu in the Urus-Martan District was preceded by at least one attack on law enforcers' checkpoints in Chechnya.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that tonight, a police checkpoint was attacked. Both assailants were killed. They were identified as Akhmed Chakhkiev, a 36-year-old resident of Ingushetia, and Adam Tsutsaev, a 31-year-old resident of the Altai Territory, reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Chechnya. One of the attackers threw a grenade to the policemen, while the second opened fire from a pistol.
On March 24, in the Naur District of Chechnya, a group of militants attacked a regiment checkpoint arranged by the National Guard of Russia. Six soldiers were killed, and three others were wounded. Six militants were also killed. The terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia, claimed responsibility for the attack.
