Makhachkala dismantles video cameras at city intersections because of authorities' debts

The debts of the Dagestani authorities to supplier of video cameras to register traffic violations reached 136 million roubles, although the video cameras registered violations to collect fines of 400 million roubles. This has been reported by the company supplying video cameras. The investor has refused to support the project until the debt is paid.

On November 14, employees of the Dagestani branch of the Moscow Company "Maykor" dismantled the video cameras to register traffic violations at the intersection of Dzerzhinsky and Korkmasov Streets in Makhachkala. According to Oleg Sobolev, the director of the "Maykor" project management department, the above was done because of the fact that the debt of the Chief Supervision Department "Safe Dagestan" to the video camera supplier reached 136 million roubles.

"We have a state contract. Everything has been purchased from our investment funds, and the republic has not invested a penny. And we implement the project since 2014. With the help of our systems, the republic registered fines of 400 million roubles... We are no longer able to independently invest and support such quite a costly project," noted Oleg Sobolev.
