"Roskomnadzor" blocks websites calling for actions against Ramzan Kadyrov

Websites calling to hold unsanctioned protests in Chechnya are blocked at a request of the Prosecutor's Office of the republic.

Prohibited materials were detected by officials from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office while they were monitoring the Internet, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Chechen prosecutors.

"The texts entitled 'Call to the Chechen people. Down with Kadyrofascism!' were placed in free access on several Internet pages. They contained calls to hold mass unsanctioned events in Chechnya aimed at destabilizing the social and political situation in the republic. In connection with the above, the Prosecutor's Office of the Chechen Republic has sent an appropriate request to the 'Roskomnadzor' (the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) to restrict access to those materials. And the request has been granted in full," reported an official from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.

The access to the above materials has been blocked since November 15, the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya reports.

Full text of the article is available on the Russian page of 24/7 Internet agency ‘Caucasian Knot’.
