Germany recognises Armenian Genocide

The German parliament calls on Turkey to rethink its position in the issue of the Armenian Genocide in the years of WWI. In a resolution passed on Thursday, the Bundestag suggests that the Turkish government should accurately investigate the bloody events of 1915-1923 when up to one million Armenians were killed in Ottoman Turkey and thousands were banished.

Turkey currently continues to deny the Genocide, which can seriously affect its chances of accession to the European Union, says Radio Liberty.
