Makhachkala: rally organizer adjudges 25,000 roubles from MIA

The Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala has partially satisfied the claim lodged by Marat Ismailov, the organizer of the anti-corruption rally on March 26, by collecting 25,000 roubles from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) as compensation for his moral harm.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above rally was held in Makhachkala on March 26. Then, on March 27, by a court judgement Marat Ismailov was fined by 10,000 roubles. In June, the Supreme Court of Dagestan cancelled the fine imposed on the organizer of the anti-corruption rally.

On October 26, Judge Khasan Djunaidiev from the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala, ruled to collect 25,000 roubles from the Russian MIA in compensation for moral harm caused to Marat Ismailov, although the latter claimed 100,000 roubles for the disruption of the above rally. However, the court dropped the figure down to 25,000, the Dagestani edition named "Novoe Delo" reports.

Marat Ismailov has not yet decided whether he will challenge the decision of the above District Court.
