Oslo: prosecutor demands two years for Ingush native

At today's court session in Norway, the prosecutor stressed links of a 17-year-old native of Ingushetia with radicals; while his advocate asked to acquit him.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Russian citizen was detained in Oslo on April 8. Norwegian law enforcers reported that he had a box with a primitive small-power improvised explosive device (IED) on him.

At the today's sitting of the Oslo District Court, prosecutor Marit Bakkevig demanded two years in prison for the above 17-year-old native of Ingushetia.

The prosecutor has stated that the young man had acquired radical convictions while maintaining contacts with "jihadist circles" in Oslo and other cities. The young man’s advocate Javid Khussein Shakh demanded to acquit his client or a milder punishment, the Aftenposten writes today.

The IED taken away from the young man at detention was liquidated on the spot, but in July investigators reconstructed it. The reconstruction showed that the IED, made from a gas burner, had a small damaging power. The defendant said during interrogation that he was going to blow it up in some deserted place, but the prosecutor asserts that the explosion was planned in city centre, the NRK has reported today.
