Chechen Prosecutor's Office demands to block websites about IEDs
On October 11, a request was sent to the court of Grozny to approve a requirement to Internet providers to ban access to websites with instructions for manufacture of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at home.
During the monitoring of the Internet concerning materials of extremist nature, Chechen prosecutors discovered two websites providing the above information about IEDs.
"In this regard, on October 11, the Prosecutor's Office sent to the court a request to the Internet providers operating on the territory of the republic to block access to those harmful resources," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an official from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.
According to the Chechen prosecutor, the information with instructions about manufacture of an IED placed to the public domain for an unlimited number of persons poses a serious threat of terrorist nature and also promotes the propaganda of terrorism.
