Defence associates Akhmed Akhmedov's case with his struggle against police registration
Advocate Israfil Gadadov associates the criminal prosecution of Akhmed Akhmedov, a specialist in the Islamic medicine in Dagestan, with his attempts to cancel his police prevention registration and active participation in the protection of his earlier detained brother.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 24, 43-year-old Akhmed Akhmedov, well-known as "Doctor Akhmad", stopped answering his mobile phone and on September 27, he was released on recognizance not to leave and accused of arms trafficking.
According to Kamal, a friend of Akhmed Akhmedov, people of various professions, including law enforcers, came to Doctor Akhmad for consultations.
Muslims by themselves define the framework of the Islamic medicine, which, depending on their worldview and profession of some concept of Islam can be expanded or narrowed. This was explained by Akhmet Yarlykapov, Senior Researcher at the Centre for Ethnopolitical Studies at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology at the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
According to him, there is a basic standard of the Islamic medicine, which is considered acceptable in all concepts of Islam. Akhmet Yarlykapov has also noted there are also a lot of practices considered questionable by many Muslims, especially by those professing the fundamental concept. In particular, the above note concerns writing of dua amulets, which are forbidden in certain concepts of Islam, including the Salafi trend thereof.
