Paragliding female athlete from KChR wins Russian Championship
On October 3, the competitions of the 9th Russian Championship on paragliding accuracy were completed in the Chegem Gorge. The gold medal was won by Maria Molokanova, an athlete from the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), and the silver medal went to an athlete from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).
According to Marat Mushkaev, the president for the KBR’s Ultralight Aviation Federation, Maria Molokanova lost several points in the "accuracy" of target landing to Zukhra Djanibekova, an athlete from the KChR.
"Every day, participants of the competition are given a task to follow a route, formed taking into account the terrain and weather conditions. The athlete, who, following the results of all stages, gains the highest points, who follows those routes on the higher altitude and, most importantly, quicker than other, will win the Cup of Russia," noted Marat Mushkaev as quoted by the RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria".
In total, the competitions in the Chegem District of the KBR gathered about 100 athletes from Udmurtia, Mordovia, Crimea, the Samara Region, Moscow, KChR, the Stavropol Territory, Sakhalin, and the Perm Region.
