"Radio Liberty": two natives of Dagestan detained in case of massacre in Surgut

In Surgut, at least 10 people are detained on suspicion of involvement in an attack on passers-by on August 19. Two natives of Dagestan, who knew Arthur Gadjiev, were accused of complicity in the terror act, the "Radio Liberty" reports with reference to its sources.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 19, Arthur Gadjiev wounded seven people with a knife. He was killed by policemen.

The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) banned in Russia. On August 22, a video with Arthur Gadjiev swearing allegiance the IS was posted on the Internet. It contradicts the investigators' version about absence of terrorist motives in the attack.

According to the "Radio Liberty", the number of detainees includes Naimzhon Ikromov from Tajikistan, who he studied together with Arthur Gadjiev in college. The court sentenced Naimzhon Ikromov to 15 days of arrest for hooliganism.

Eyewitnesses reported that Arthur Gadjiev entered the shopping centre "Severny", put on a mask, poured a combustible mixture on the floor and set it on fire.

"Then he threw a smoke bomb, went back to the shops, hit a female pensioner with an axe and another visitor to the shopping centre who managed to snatch the axe. And then Arthur Gadjiev ran down the street with a knife and stabbed casual passers-by until a policeman shot and killed him," the "Radio Liberty" reports.

The "Radio Liberty" has reminded that the investigators implied that 19-year-old Arthur Gadjiev suffered from the psychiatric disorder.
