Advocate of Nemtsov's family urges Kadyrov to acknowledge his guilt

Ramzan Kadyrov, Delimkhanov brothers and Ruslan Geremeev should plead guilty in the case of Boris Nemtsov's murder, the victims' advocate has stated at today's meeting of the Moscow District   Military Court.

Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. The defendants in the case are the natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia Zaur Dadaev, the brothers Anzor and Shagid (also named by mass media as Shadid) Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. Investigators believe that Ruslan Mukhudinov was the customer of the murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 31, the Moscow District Military Court announced the investigation in the case to be completed. The investigators consider Ruslan Mukhudinov to be a person who ordered the murder of Boris Nemtsov. However, according to the Boris Nemtsov's family members, the actual assassin's paymaster should be sought among top-ranking officials of Chechnya.

According to Vadim Prokhorov, the advocate of Zhanna Nemtsova, Boris' daughter, the victims refuse to consider the murder solved. However, they believe the perpetrators' guilt proved, with the exception of Khamzat Bakhaev, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports.

Mr Prokhorov expressed hope that over time "the situation will change" and "investigators will find power to bring all those responsible to justice." "I am absolutely convinced that the best way out for Ruslan Goremeev, Delimkhanov brothers and Ramzan Kadyrov is to confess and surrender," the "Mediazona" quotes the advocate as saying.

In December 2016, the court rejected the petition of the victims' advocate to summon and question Adam Delimkhanov, an advisor to the head of Chechnya and State Duma MP; Vakha Geremeev, a lieutenant-colonel and former security officer of Akhmat Kadyrov; Suleiman Geremeev, a senator (a member of the Russia's Federation Council) from Chechnya; and Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the republic, under the Boris Nemtsov's murder case. In the opinion of the advocates, investigators are trying to turn away a blow from Kadyrov's closest retinue.
