All suspects killed in Karamakhi village pre-identified

One of the suspects killed in an armed clash in the Dagestani village of Karamakhi has been identified as Nasu Ataev, a 40-year-old leader of the "Kadar" militant grouping. Three of his subordinates were killed together with him, the "Kommersant" reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement agencies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 18, in the village of Karamakhi in the Buynaksk District, law enforcers cordoned off a house and offered the people inside it to surrender. However, the suspects opened fire. As a result, four armed men were killed.

According to the preliminary information, the killed suspects have been identified. Apart from Nasu Ataev, the killed suspects were identified as Djafar Magomedov, Ibragim Nasuev, and Ibragim Djakhbarov, the "Kommersant" reports.

Earlier, the resources supporting the law enforcement agencies in Northern Caucasus, have mentioned the name of Nasu Ataev among the suspects involved in the killings of Migitin Djavadov, the head of the village of Karamakhi, and local resident Shamil Ibakov, committed in 2015. In October 2014, Migitin Djavadov and Shamil Ibakov presented as law enforcers' witnesses during a search in the house of Ibragim Nasuev when ammunition and extremist literature were found.

According to the information of the law enforcement agencies, Migitin Djavadov and Shamil Ibakov were killed when the "Kadar" militant grouping was led by Khadji Mirzaev, who was killed in the Makhachkala's village of Talga on December 3, 2016. Nasu Ataev became the leader of the "Kadar" militant grouping after the death of Khadji Mirzaev.
