Sapiyat Magomedova claims delay in her lawsuit against MoF

Today, Sapiyat Magomedova, a Dagestani advocate, earlier accused of using violence and insulting policemen, has filed a complaint to the court about the cancellation of the decision on closure of the criminal case against her.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 17, 2010, according to Sapiyat Magomedova, she was beaten by Khasavyurt policemen. The policemen claimed that Sapiyat Magomedova herself had attacked them. The criminal cases were initiated against both parties to the conflict. However, later, the criminal cases were combined and closed.

According to Sapiyat Magomedova, today, she has appealed to the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala with the demand to cancel the decision to revoke the resolution on the closure of her criminal case.

Sapiyat Magomedova insists that in her case, during seven years, investigators and prosecutors "never conducted an effective investigation and did not reveal a true picture of the incident."

According to Sapiyat Magomedova, the decision to close the criminal prosecution was cancelled because she appealed to the Khasavyurt City Court with a lawsuit against the Russian Ministry of Finance (MoF). In her lawsuit, Sapiyat Magomedova has demanded to pay the compensation for property and moral harm for her unlawful criminal prosecution and also requested the Court to oblige the Prosecutor of Dagestan to apologize to her on behalf of the state.
