"The Telegraph": annual tourist flow to Georgia exceeds country's population
In Georgia, there are three tourists per two residents of the country, and the flow of tourists increases each year. This was reported by the British newspaper "The Telegraph" on May 8.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2016, 6.35 million people visited Georgia. This is 7.6% more than in 2015.
Analysts of the British newspaper have included Georgia in the list of countries in which the tourist flow exceeds the local population. In total, the list includes 51 countries, and Georgia occupies the 37th place in the list. According to "The Telegraph", in average, there are 1.49 tourists per one resident of Georgia.
This year, in the period from January to April, 1.8 million foreigners visited Georgia. This means an 11.1% increase in comparison with the same period of 2016, the "News Georgia" reports.
The first place in the above list is occupied by Andorra, a "dwarf" state in Europe, where there are 33 tourists per one resident of the country.
