Ajarian youth demand withdrawal of Russia's military base

Some 50 activists of youth organisations staged a rally in the capital of Ajaria, Batumi, demanding that the Russian military base situated there should be withdrawn.

Local students and members of the Kmara ("Enough") organisation gathered near Batumi Secondary School No.5, the military base stationed not far from it. The young people shouted "Go away!" and demanded that Russia should implement the agreement on the withdrawal of its bases from Georgia. They also wanted the military base building to be transferred to the school.
