"Open Russia" reports attempt to prevent screening of “Nemtsov” film

On March 4, a free screening of the film by Vladimir Kara-Murza "Nemtsov" is scheduled in Rostov-on-Don, as well as the presentation of the projects "Otkrytoe Pravo" (Open Law) and "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy). Both events are organized with the support of the "Open Russia" movement, Anastasia Shevchenko, the regional coordinator of the movement, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to her story, the organizers have already faced attempts to disrupt the events.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Boris Nemtsov was killed on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. He was one of most prominent opposition politicians in Russia.

"For our event, we have booked a hall at a hotel. However, on March 1, the hotel reported that ‘holding the planned events is impossible for technical reasons, since all the conference halls need urgent technical maintenance.’ Attempts of the territorial administration and law enforcement bodies to disrupt the events look ridiculous," Ms Shevchenko has stated.

According to her story, given the situation, the organizers refrain so far from advertising the new venue of the events.
