NGO raided, no comments given

On December 14, the FSB (Federal Security Service) Department in Ingushetia gave back computers seized during a purge in the Nazran office of the Information Center of the Council of Chechen NGOs. According to head of the Information Center Taisa Isayeva, they have scanned through files stored in the computers and revealed no changes or corrections in the databases. The reason for searching the office remains unknown.

The special operation in the office of the Information Center of the Council of NGOs, which is situated in Nazran, Ingushetia, was conducted on January 12. A group of military men in masks armed with automatic rifles and light machine-guns rushed into the flat in the center of Nazran the organization rented as an office. Pointing guns at the present, the raiders made a real search in the room. The secret service men took away two office computers with them "for a more detailed examination of the organization's activity."

The FSB Department in Ingushetia refuses to comment the happening.
