Solo picketer detained in Kalmykia
As reported by Batyr Boromangnaev, the chairman of the Kalmyk branch of the "Yabloko" Party, policemen have detained the activist, who held in Elista a solo picket against the socio-economic policy of the republic's authorities.
According to his version, the incident occurred around the midday.
"Just now, policemen have detained the man who held a solo picket in Lenin Square in Elista against the socio-economic policy, pursued by the authorities of Kalmykia," Mr Boromangnaev wrote on his page in the social network Facebook.
The spokesman of the press service of the Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Republic of Kalmykia could neither confirm nor deny the information and promised to comment on the alleged detention later, after all the facts are known, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
