Municipal officials expelled from opposition parties

The election of members of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) as municipal officials has caused problems between them and the party leadership as the party boycotted the December 17 elections. Those members of the party who took part in the municipal elections regardless of the party's decision to boycott the elections will be punished, ADP secretary for ideology Aydin Guliyev told the Caucasian Knot correspondent. "If they acted contrary to this decision, took part in the elections, and were elected to municipalities, there aren't ADP members from today. They'll be expelled from the party in any case," Mr Guliyev summarized.
