On eve of decision announcement, Geriev's defence stated plans to appeal to ECtHR

In his last plea at the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya, Zhalaudi Geriev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, presented evidence of his innocence. The last session before the debate was held in a raised voice; one of the panel judges raised his voice on Geriev and ran out of the courtroom, taking the case materials with him. In doing so, he failed to respond to the request of the presiding judge, said the advocate Alaudi Musaev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the last session of the SC was held on December 27. During the debates, the defence asked the prosecutor to present evidence on at least one of the three indictment points, said the advocate Alaudi Musaev.

According to his story, after the prosecutor's speech, the defence asked again to present the evidence.

Mr Musaev has noted that in the event of an unfavourable outcome for Geriev, the defence would complain to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR); and that the complaint had already been prepared. For this purpose, a group of highly-experience lawyers had been set up.
