Abkhazian parliament recognized Bagapsh as winner of presidential election

The parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia has passed a resolution according to which "the presidential election is considered valid", and "Sergey Bagapsh is president elect". Commenting on the parliamentary resolution, Raul Khadzhimba, the candidate for the post of president of the breakaway republic, called it "an absurd decision, which will deepen a split in the society." "It's incomprehensible what is to be done with the decree to hold the second round of the presidential election in the republic issued by President Vladislav Ardzinba. No one has revoked it," Raul Khadzhimba said to journalists.
