Abkhazian presidency remains undecided

Raul Khadzhimba and Sergey Bagapsh, two candidates for the Abkhazian presidency, were in Moscow on November 1-2. Upon his return to Sukhum, Raul Khadzhimba told Russian and Abkhazian journalists that during his visit to the Russian capital, "appropriate consultations were held, and there's hope that the way out of the crisis taking place in the republic will be found."

At the same time Sergey Bagapsh said to journalists upon his arrival from Moscow: "Our position is unambiguous – we won and will dispute everything only by legal means. Asked about the second round of the election, he said: "It's ruled out. I think there'll be no election. I'll assume office on December 7."
