Armenian opposition to continue protest actions

"As before, the opposition is going to hold protest actions to the best of its abilities," chair of the Anrapetutiun (Republic) party and deputy of the National Assembly Albert Bazeian said to journalists. At the same time he pointed out that spring developments showed the concentration of huge administrative, propagandistic and financial resources in the hands of the ruling administration. "It's very difficult to fight with such a system of course. Mass repressions against participants in meetings and demonstrations in spring and summer confirm it," he said.

Albert Bazeian is convinced that political processes need to be prepared thoroughly in order to remove such a system. The opposition still refrains from any anticonstitutional actions which will bring up serious problems to Armenia, he stated. "The power in the country cannot be removed as a result of actions of civil disobedience or mass democratic and nonviolent actions on the part of the population," he holds.
