Situation in Prigorodny district stabilizes, says Sultygov

Now the situation in the Prigorodny district of North Osetia is fully controlled by law enforcement agencies and joint mobile platoons, which consist of both Ingushetians and representatives of the Osetian side, chairman of the Ingush State Committee for Refugees and IDPs (internally displaced persons) Kazbek Sultygov told the Caucasian Knot correspondent. The situation in the district is tense on the whole but is under control of law enforcement agencies for the moment, in spite of the provocations on the part of some people towards Ingushetians living in the Prigorodny district.

On October 23, from 200 to 500 people, supposedly relatives of the Beslan tragedy victims, blocked off the federal route Kavkaz on the administrative border with Ingushetia. The people demanded that North Osetia should be forbidden for Chechens and Ingushetians. The conflict was happily resolved due to the interference of law enforcers of the Republic of North Osetia - Alania.
