Using torture against former officials documented

Documentary photographs supporting facts of using torture against Sulkhan Molashvili, the former head of the control chamber, and David Mirtskhulava, the ex-minister of fuel and energy, have been sent to the EU human rights committee, announced  Nana Kakabadze, chairwoman of The Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights NGO. "We expect the committee's reaction to this information in the near future. I'm sure the Georgian Government will receive a serious warning in connection with gross human rights violations," Ms Kakabadze said. Sulkhan Molashvili has been moved from a prison hospital to a republican clinic, she added.

Sulkhan Molashvili and David Mirtskhulava are in pre-trial detention. They are charged with exceeding their commission and damaging the state budget.
